Facilitation of the Department?s annual retreats over 4 years, with a focus on trends in the operating environment and how best to secure future position and effectiveness. A scan of trends globally, nationally and locally led to a sketch of alternate future scenarios, and commitment to eight ?Foundations for the Future.? Working Groups developed strategies around these eight Foundations, and implemented these over a two year period.

Two years into this, established four think-tanks on major trends and helped re-design the strategic planning process, shortening the cycle time between recognition of and action on new directions. Facilitated the strategic planning process for the merger of resource development agencies..

Design and facilitation of consultation for a strategy for the regional body responsible for natural resource management. Ran and documented 24 workshops at local and regional level, across all stakeholders. The workshops reviewed forces affecting the region over the next 20 years, developed goals, assessed threats to assets and capacity to respond to threats, critiqued current strategies and developed preferred strategies. Facilitation produced high quality outputs in a limited time and built trust between the CCMA and its major partners.
