"Forget social!", says Robert McNamee at Ted, contemplating the trajectories of the digital world. "Social is now a feature, it's not a platform".  That's to say, social has just been a leg up. The main game is now making those connections do something useful. It's time, say McNamee, for high value add content, highly differentiated content, to step up and have its day.

Now, McNamee is in a band, with to move, so is he pushing his own barrow? He asks as much, and his answer, spun through his presentation, goes something like this:

"Sure! This is about engagement, and I'm putting all my money on that because that's where creativity sizzles."

I picked it up around 10:00 minutes, stayed for the ride right through to the resounding end ... then started back at 00:00 for the whole thing. It's amazing what you can do in 15 minutes.
